For spelling we learnt about the prefix’s  ‘inter-‘ and ‘over-‘. We wrote a poem of a word or we could write a short story.

Over the dark stormy clouds

         Violent thunder shakes the ground

              Everyone shelters from the cold wind

      Rain thumps of the roof like hail

                                                                              Creating a storm orchestra

                     As people huddle with friends and family

                                                                              Seeking warmth and love

                                                                             Trees swaying in the wind

For mahi a tahi I did a lesson on Spanish. I learnt the words el (the), un (an) and tu(you). I got all of the questions but two right.

For Mahi a Tahi I completed a level of Spanish I learnt these words agua water, letche milk and pan bread. This is my first time learning another language apart from Maori.

For mahi a tahi I did Duolingo. I am learning Spanish and I enjoy it. I learnt these words.

We are learning about the periodic table. We did a writing task on it. It was hard to find a type of poem but I chose this one. It was fun because I like being mean to my friends in a funny way. I like the adjectives I choose. I made a poem about roasting my Friends. My favorite verse is the last one because it was the funniest one and had the best roast.

This term I have been doing drama for my action station choice. We had to use our bodies and voices to play a variety of different drama games. The games were Lap, Lap, Clap, Snap, Woosh, Reflections, Shapes and Freeze Frame. My favorite was Freeze Frame. Fi gave us a situation and we had to freeze in that picture. One of them was ” you and your friends are cooking in the kitchen then your pot explodes”. We had to freeze where  we thought the people would be then. The most challenging part was the game Woosh because I am quiet.

For the past few weeks in literacy, Me, Anika and Eliza have been doing a debate of if the school lunches should go or not. We thought that they should stay but we had to write about the reasons they should go( even though we really didn’t believe in it).  I was the third speaker and I wrote about what the government should spend their money on instead of the lunches. I think that our team did really well on speaking loudly  (blowing the air horn about 12 times definitely made us win). I think that our team needed to work on doing more rebuttals. We also made Christopher Luxon masks and then turned him into a drag queen. It was really fun. This is our writing link.

For cyber smart we made a collage on the things we like an the things we like and the things we want to do when we grow up. I was fun and it made me think about the things I like.  We learnt how to take a screen screenshot. You hold down control shift, show windows and you just hold down control show windows for a whole screen screen shot.

For tech this term I have been doing sewing. We are making a pillow. It has four squares joined together( two are yellow and two are white with bumble bees) and on the back mine is white. For the first few sessions we learned how to thread a sewing machine and then we did a collage on things we like and things we would like in our dream room. Next we started our cushion inner. We had to sew a square and leave a gap at the top for stuffing. Then the next week we choose martial for the front. We sewed them together which was very nerve racking. Then we made the back the next week it was less nerve racking. Then we had to sew the front and the back together, that was the most nerve racking. Next week we get to stuff the inner and then sew it up. The we get to turn the cushion cover inside out and put the inner inside the cover. Then we can take it home.
